脊椎動物門　硬骨魚綱　まとうだい目　マトウダイ科
Vertebrata Osteichthyes Zeida

matoudai マトウダイ 09280　マト(ウ)ダイ (Matodai) Zeus japonicus
　大分弁では「ぜにいち（ぜにもち）」、「もんだい」、「もんはげ」あたりです。似た魚にカガミダイがありますが、頭の形そして斑点が異なるようですが、見たことがありません。以前こいつを刺身にしたことがあるが、頂部や腹部の正中線上に（えっ！表現が難しいって･･見りゃ分かる）に棘があってちょっとやりにくかった。これが特徴ですが、それよりなんたって口がでかいし、伸びます。　食べ方は刺身が定番でしょう。（撮影 '97年 12月24日 大分）

Names in Oita is "Zeniichi (one coin)", "Mondai (Spoted fish)" and "Mon hage (Spoted thread filefish)". It similar to Zenopsis nebulosa. But, I never seen it. This fish have spains on the edge of body. And, mouth is very wide and flixable. We often eat sashimi of it. (Photoed at Oita-shi Dec. 24 '97)
