Welcome to Vertual Jigoku Tour ! |
My name is " ONI " living in Jigoku from thouthands years before. I am a very famous character of Japanese regend. If you behave in a bad manner when you alive, I will punish you at Jigoku after you dead ! " Gaooh ! "
Anyway, I will introduce you the unique 8 Jigokus in Beppu city because you are still alive....
So called because it resembles the sea, this 200 meter deep, cobalt-blue pond of boiling water emerged 1200 years ago after a volcanic explosion.
(BLOOD POND HELL)
This is the oldinst natural "Jigoku" in Japan!
(WHITE POND HELL)
The white pond hell is so called because the colourless water that naturally spouts from te ground mysteriously turns creamy white. The serene atmosphare of the traditional Japanese garden is sure to soothe your mind.
This is the site of amaging intermittent spring. Every 25 minutes a natural gust of water shoots abput 20 meters in the air. The boiling water are used to raise tropical plants.
(COOKING POT HELL)
I am standing on an enormous cooking pot. I am the mascot of this hot spring site, temptingly divided into six unique, pots of murky, bobbling, " thunping " boiling water.
(DEMON HILL HELL)
The force of the stream produced at this spring can pull one and a half train cars. This " hellish " site is the happy home of a variety of crocodiles and alligators who slither down into the warm breeding waters. They are all my pets !!
(GOLDEN DRAGON HELL)
An impressible golden dragon stands as a guard at this spring. Here you can have a " devilish cocktail " of hot spring water with bamboo-spilit cups, enjoy images of deities from the Oriental calender,, as well as a hot house full of tropical plants.
A gust of stream clears to reveal prancing lions, bathing hippos and curious chimpanzees. Taking its name from the mountain of mud formed over the year, this "Jigoku" is also a mini zoo which children can surely enjoy.
