Mieko Nagano : Oita city, Japan

A north wind has begun to blow. But children are very vigorous every day because they are called "Children's nature is vitality." Many children have flocked in twos and threes to a sunny corner of the open space. Some of them started to play shove and push game singing with one voice "Shove and push, but don't cry." The mass will soon increase the size, and elder and younger children are singing together. Those children who were suffering from cold have been getting warmer by absorbing in the game.

When I look back the pleasant days, I can remember many plays that have been lost long years ago. Elder children were taking care of younger kids. Small kids were eagerly playing around the elders hoping to grow like them as quickly as possible. And grown-ups were watching kids warmly, sometimes giving good scolding.
