The weather turned to rainy season like from the afternoon. The green frogs are making noise. As I have heard that the farmer was going to plant the seedling, I went down the paddy to see it.

The plantation were here and there. I was interested in how the seedlings germinated in the shallow boxes were handled in a planting machine.

A handcart. Two sets of seedbeds are on the white frame. Looking from behind the machine (right.) The seedling is supplied one by one from left and right side protruding of the handle, then guided to the soil surface. The farmer walks in between the seedling line pushing the machine. I have once seen a large machine equipped with driverfs seat and it can plant many rows of seedlings simultaneously.

The farmer in the rice paddy looks after the machine planted seedlings and if he finds any missed spot, he manually fills the space with additional seedling. The whole family and nearby helpers came to complete the plantation. I remember in old days all rice seedling were planted by hand, indeed.

You can see a paddy ready for plantation, and another paddy waiting for raking, and breeding the seedling. Beyond them are the paddies just planted today. There are many small size paddies on which farmers plant individually according their schedule.

What was pleasant today:

The farmer who were pushing the machine laughed at and asked me how to make a picture opportunity. I answered gOh, donft mind. Please behave as usual.h All the people are kind enough to teach me so much.
