風が強かったものの、天気にも恵まれ第２回れんげ祭りが盛況のうちに開催されました。
参加者は２５０人を越え、内容盛りたくさん（沢山すぎ？）のイベントにみなさん大喜び。
今回のれんげ祭りでは集落内全体がイベント会場で集落住人一人一人が主催者的な要素の
濃いものにしてみました。
参加者はイモリ谷マップを手にのんびり歩きながら、軽トラバスにのりながら、機関車トーマス号
にのりながら、スタンプラリー形式で各会場、各体験を楽しみました。

井福　隆さん宅では　背もたれ付のいす作り。　かなづちと電気ドリルを使いおしゃれないすを完成させた
大分市から来た主婦は「１５００円でこんなにすてきなイスができて感激。電気ドリルが快感でした！！」
井福　英一さん宅では竹細工体験（竹かごと水鉄砲）、奥さんの桂子さんは手作りこんにゃくの試食販売。
家族連れが殺到していました。
他に菊池さんの藍染め体験、イモリ谷炭焼きクラブの釜だし、ブドウ園見学、パンと器の店ぱおぱお見学

メイン会場では　石臼挽き豆腐作り体験、餅つき、トランポリン、田の中ライブ（ジャンベ太鼓）、南光寺の市、
純米酒「井守谷」試飲販売等々。

閉会式ではお楽しみ抽選会、お米や炭、ブドウ狩り招待券、豆の力屋豆腐商品券など２０名以上の方に
イモリ谷産の物品があたりました。

春の一日、参加者のみなさんに存分楽しんでいただけたと思います。イベントの時に関わらず、周年ぶらっと
遊びに来て下さいね。

集落で取り組むグリーンツーリズム、徐々に充実してきています。たった五十数件の集落でもいろんな人がいて
いろんな楽しいこと、学べること、おいしいもの、知恵や経験を提供できます。
今年中には食事と宿泊を（正式に）提供できるようになります。

次回イベントは５月３１日（土）１７：００から　ほたるの里の音楽会です。バイオリンの音色を聞きながらゆらゆら飛ぶ
ほたるを眺める、そんな至福の一時を過ごしに来ませんか？

    Report on Renge Festival            (4 May, ’03)

Though it was windy, we had a fine weather.  The festival was a great success with the attendance of more than 250 people.  They had a great time enjoying a variety of interesting activities.

 This festival was unique in that the event spots lay all over the valley and that every member of Imoridani community acted as a promoter of the festival.

 Consulting an Imoridani map, the visitors walked around leisurely, called at event spots and collected visiting stamps.  Some of them preferred to go round on mini-trucks.  The children enjoyed riding on a vehicle of a mini look-alike of Locomotive Engine Thomas.  A housewife from Oita City was very happy with a low-backed chair she made at Takashi Ifuku-san’s.  A lot of families with their children went to Eiji Ifuku-san’s to try making bamboo water pistols and baskets.  They were also pleased with konjak made by his wife Keiko-san.

 Their itinerary also included such places as Kikuchi-san’s indigo dyeing workshop, a charcoal furnace, vineyards and PAO’s bakery.

 At the main meeting place they took part in making tofu with a stone mill, pounding rice into cake, bouncing on a trampoline, listening to a concert in a rengeso field and looking about at the market.

 At the closing ceremony over 20 of them were given by lottery such free gifts as rice, charcoal, invitation tickets to vineyards, and gift tokens of Mame-no-Chikaraya.

 We are proud that a small community of only 50-odd houses has been able to carry through the kind of event with such a variety of activities.  This may be a proof that our Green Tourism by the whole community has propressed quite sufficiently.

  We’re going to hold Firefly Festival on May 30 (Sat.)  It starts at 17:00.

We watch fireflies turning light on and off, listening to a concert.

 We are expecting a large attendance as well.
