The Ramon Magsaysay Award,established in honor of the third president of the republic of the Philippines,seeks to recognaize individuals and institutions sia who work selflessly for the welfare of the peaple.
Magsaysay with inscriptions indicating the basis of selection and a cash prize of US$50,000.
Five awards are usually given each year and are presented at a ceremony held in Manila on 31 August,the birth anniversary of the late president.
