Live broadcasting to the whole world
Off Meeting
From the end of year till new year, the computer network world is also
unusual, busy or free, as the world .
I had not heard from some of frequenter. They may have gone back to
hometown or been in long vacation, so they have turned off the computer.
I'm envious of them.
But, "As it is the long vacation, we shall enjoy unusual time.", others
said so and hold the Off Meeting( It's not on the computer network.
They really see each other.) vigorously. There were many plan of the
party or the ski tour here and there. The person be concerned with them
looked busy.
Then the COARA secretariat held the year-end party on the night of
December 30, the new year was near at hand. Though they may have wanted
to run away from the year-end cleaning, many member gathered. About 60
members gathered to this party in spite of light notice. Off course there
were home-coming attendance from Tokyo as it was long vacation.
The future type arcade
We held the party at Italian restaurant located in the Sent Porta
Chuo-Cho, arcade of Oita city. In fact, this arcade have just renewed
this April. It is equipped with the machine of multimedia or the Internet,
it's so fantastic.
The fiber cable spread whole the 400 meters arcade, and you can use
high speed Internet, 6M bps, for NTT multimedia experiment, freely. It
is the future type arcade.
On the street, two roundish Internet public terminals are established,
and anyone can use them freely. Besides, one terminal is directly
concerned with the big 9 multi-screen, so everyone can enjoy net surfing
at once.
The age of netizen
There is a lot of more. There is a video camera upward of the arcade.
From all of the world, you can also see live video of this arcade through
the Internet.
So, each of the shops can use the loop of the fiber cable as an
information consent, and pull the line of the Internet into it freely.
They are in a good environment.
This them, we pulled the line into the restaurant, and broadcasted the
look of the year-end party to the whole world on live. To my disappointment,
only the member of the COARA in Tokyo watched that.
My view of media have really changed that we can broadcast pelsonal
year-end party on the spot to the world. In other words, it actually
advanced in face of the age of individual, the age of netizen. I realized
that at that time.
The tool gathering people
Needless to say, the strange group which knew each other by the E-mail
and electric meeting room ,passed over the age, educational background,
job, and sex, had lively party .
Then, it was New Year's Day.
There is the Kasuga Shrine, which attracts the greatest number of people
who pay the first visit of the year in Oita City, near the COARA secretariat.
On the way to home, some of member came together freely, and held New
Year's party. While they were listening the nice music of the fusion
band which is the member of the COARA, they were cooking and eating
okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and crape.
There also were handmade smoked something, otoso, and wine. Off course
we could use the Internet freely.
Stranger come and joined it, when they heard this noise. It seemed that
there were many families. I don't know why, but the Internet looks the
tool which gathers people. 1997 started in this way.
