The information offering service
Christmas
It is full of atmosphere of the Christmas all around.
That reminds me that the E-mail newspaper of the COARA called "Event
COARA", weekly, featured Christmas in the last week of the November.
The world Web page which has a relation to Christmas were showed in it.
There is a page which collected the story about the Santa Clause, a
page on which we can listen to the Christmas Carol, a page which
collected the picture of the world Christmas, and of course a page by
which we can write E-mail to Santa Claus in Finland.
If we register for this page, we also can sent beautiful Christmas
cards to friend by E-mail. Well, enticed by the atmosphere of the
Christmas, many other pages get to be Christmas style. It is fun to see
around those pages.
By hacker case
"Event COARA" gathers these information and shows us them. No.1 was
published on this April 26. Since it is delivered every Friday morning,
it is more of a weekly magazine than a newspaper. It has already been
published No.33.
At first, we delivered it to dear with the cracker(hacker) case in the
middle of this April. At that time, we were eager to sent E-mail written
the notice of the COARA secretariat to each of the member.
But, after that, we began to edit it with the information of the event
of Kyushu, like Fukuoka, Oita, in cooperation with Nishinippon Shimbun,
and so on.
When I read the first one now, there were guidance of the Hakata Dontaku
or the Arita ceramics market. As it was before consecutive holidays called
Golden Week, there were many guide of the holiday. These days, there are
information of nice restaurant, and the comment of the movie or the guide
of interesting Web page from reader. As it advanced, it became more
interesting.
And, after this news is distributed to reader, it is gathered one page.
So you can read them freely, again.
Successful Case
Everybody but the COARA's member can freely register the E-mail address
for distributive list by way of the COARA, and now about 3500 people
read it every week, off course free of charge. Sometimes, the attendance
of the event say " I found this in the Event COARA" on the day. It does
them good what it can.
In fact, the information offering service by E-mail like this became
popularly today. An magazine company in Tokyo probably started to sent
the information relevant to the Internet everyday from last year. This
newspaper named "Internet Watch", seemed the first one. From this Spring
they quickly began to sent it with charge, 400 yen a month.
Because of the charge, the reader had decreased once. But it recovered
soon. At October the number increased about 30 thousands, and hold good
as an enterprise. It seems, now, the first successful venture business
case of information offering.
Choice
By the way, if I read the Internet Watch everyday, I can get the movement
of the times as magazine or newspaper. So I found it very useful.
Sometimes, on the assumption that they have already read it, the netizen
lively talk each other.
But there are all sorts of electric newspaper. One is sent by E-mail.
The other is in Web page that Nishinippon Shimbun also quickly had started
this service since last fall. Besides, next year, it will be appear
that the newspaper sent between the opening of TV electric wave. I was
embarrassed by this choice. But I looked around, everyone read and study
many kinds of paper's newspaper with morning coffee to dispel the worry.
It seems "The right way we enjoy the electric newspaper".
